Day Six is looking for a new keyboard player…

Unfortunately we have to announce that one of the founding members, keyboard player Dolf van Heugten has decided to leave the band.
In the following statement he explains his decision:

“After 13 years of playing in such a great band as Day Six and 18 years of playing with Robbie, I’ve decided to quit Day Six. It was a tough choice and I thought it over a long time. Making a great album asks a lot of spare time, and I realised I didn’t enjoy it enough to invest this time in the band. When I saw the enthusiasm of our new bassist Eric, it was an eye opener to me: his energy for making great music was a feeling I didn’t have for a long time. Nevertheless, I am very proud of all the great gigs we did and albums we made. I will look back on a great time and will never forget the fun I had with the band. That is why Day Six is looking for a new keyboard player. The keyboard part is a really important sound of our band. Are you interested in making this sound with us and set up a new album? Feel free to contact us.

I would like to thank Robbie, Daan, Eric, Nick and of course our manager Tiny and our crew Willem, Frits and Gerjan for all the great things we did together and I’ll never forget the great hospitality of the Liebregts family (coffee, vlaai). And for the fans: Thank you for your great support.”

And we would like to thank Dolf for all the effort he has put into the band, with thousands of rehearsals, about 300 shows and many, many hours of recordings for the several albums we have made, but most of all for the lots of fun we had. (With indeed loads of coffee and cake)
We’re very proud of what we achieved together.
Thanks a lot Dolf, you’re a great guy and we had a great time!

Until we have found a new keyboard player Dolf will keep on doing the shows.
In the meantime we‘ll be working on a new album.
