dec 32012
We regret to announce that we’re forced to cancel the Progmotionconcert with Sean Filkins.
Due elbow bursitis, Daan isn’t able to drum at the moment.
Day Six was really looking forward to play the show at W2, and we’re truly sorry, but please know we did everything to make the show happen.
We will make it up to you in the future!

Due some problems at the factory the release of our compilation-LP “Samples of….” has been delayed.
When the LP being released exactly we’re not sure but we expect it to be somewhere in the beginning of December. As soon as we know more about it we’ll let you know.
Luckily the progrockmagazine IOpages and Freia Music came up with a good idea.

This month you can choose beside the work of Steven Wilson or Pendragon our new LP “Samples of genetic wisdom, captured to survive”. Yeah!

Day Six goes vinyl…
aug 142012
We will release a compilation album on the FREIA Music label. The album will be entitled “Samples of genetic wisdom, captured to survive”. The album contains tracks for the first two albums of Day Six, “The grand design”(2010) and “Eternal dignity” (2003). But it will also includes tracks form the predecessor of Day Six, Peanuts, from the album “Be careful what you wish for…” (2000), plus one or more so far unofficial released tracks.
The release of the album celebrates the 10th anniversary of the band working under the name Day Six. But it’s also a retrospective of the 18 years collaboration of the band with keyboard-player Dolf van Heugten.
The album will be released as a strictly limited edition of 500 copies. The luxe edition will contain 2 HQ-vinyl LP’s and one CD. The release is planned for november 2012.
Day Six and FREIA Music thank Lion Music for granting a license to realise the album.

Day Six is looking for a new keyboard player…
mei 302012
Unfortunately we have to announce that one of the founding members, keyboard player Dolf van Heugten has decided to leave the band.
In the following statement he explains his decision:
“After 13 years of playing in such a great band as Day Six and 18 years of playing with Robbie, I’ve decided to quit Day Six. It was a tough choice and I thought it over a long time. Making a great album asks a lot of spare time, and I realised I didn’t enjoy it enough to invest this time in the band. When I saw the enthusiasm of our new bassist Eric, it was an eye opener to me: his energy for making great music was a feeling I didn’t have for a long time. Nevertheless, I am very proud of all the great gigs we did and albums we made. I will look back on a great time and will never forget the fun I had with the band. That is why Day Six is looking for a new keyboard player. The keyboard part is a really important sound of our band. Are you interested in making this sound with us and set up a new album? Feel free to contact us.
I would like to thank Robbie, Daan, Eric, Nick and of course our manager Tiny and our crew Willem, Frits and Gerjan for all the great things we did together and I’ll never forget the great hospitality of the Liebregts family (coffee, vlaai). And for the fans: Thank you for your great support.”
And we would like to thank Dolf for all the effort he has put into the band, with thousands of rehearsals, about 300 shows and many, many hours of recordings for the several albums we have made, but most of all for the lots of fun we had. (With indeed loads of coffee and cake)
We’re very proud of what we achieved together.
Thanks a lot Dolf, you’re a great guy and we had a great time!
Until we have found a new keyboard player Dolf will keep on doing the shows.
In the meantime we‘ll be working on a new album.
